GCARS holds weekly nets each Tuesday night on the club repeaters.
Both the 2 Meter and 440 Nets are Affiliated as ARES Training Nets

The "440" net is at 8:30pm on 444.550
T
he "Pacemaker" net is at 9:00pm on 147.120.
Immediately after the Pacemaker net, we
have a "Trader's Net" on the same 2-meter repeater.
NO DEALERS OR OTHERS WHO MAKE A LIVING
LARGE OR SMALL, NOR ANYTHING FOR PERSONAL GAIN
NO
CB EQUIPMENT OTHER THAN ANTENNAS USED ON 10 METERS.
NO Siltronix, RCI, RANGER OR OTHER FCC PROHIBITED RADIOS

The Gaston County ARES net is held on the 147.12 Repeater
on Thursday Nights at 7:00 PM

These are all three (3) both formal & informal nets,
for the purpose of passing TRAFFIC & promoting amateur radio.
Both the "Pacemaker" and "440" nets are 'RAGCHEW' nets and
you are encouraged to hang around and at least say "Hello" at
the proper time
(don't rag chew while checking in) rather than when you check in,
while the ARES net is check in only.

Proper checkin is, for example, is:
"Net Control, please check in W1AW, ARRL in Newington CT."
if staying for comments or just to say "Hello."

Or "Net Control, please check in W1AW, ARRL in Newington CT. out after formal."
Extra comments should not be made since that is what "Informal" is for.
